Andrea Bocelli recently celebrated his 30-year career as a tenor and singer. He quickly gained success and became extremely popular both in Italy and abroad. He is also known for his philanthropic work. Andrea Bocelli will be a guest on Fabio Fazio’s show “Che Tempo che Fa” on January 21, 2024.

Andrea Bocelli, who is now 65 years old, was born in La Sterza, a village in Lajatico, Pisa, on September 22, 1958. His parents were farmers involved in the agricultural business. Due to glaucoma, Andrea was visually impaired from birth and lost his sight completely at the age of 12 after being hit in the face with a soccer ball. He learned Braille at a boarding school and, after finishing high school, pursued a degree in law. However, his true passion was music, particularly singing. He became a student of tenor Franco Corelli and started performing in various Pianobars.

His career officially began in 1992 when he was asked to develop a song for Pavarotti during an audition. It was during this audition that the young Andrea showcased his talent and subsequently signed his first record deal with Sugar. In 1994, he participated and won the “Nuove Proposte” category at the Sanremo Festival, gradually gaining more fame and recognition as both a tenor and pop singer. One of his most iconic songs, “Con te partirò,” achieved double platinum status and he quickly became renowned internationally, even receiving a star on the Walk of Fame.

In 2011, Andrea Bocelli founded the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, a non-profit organization aimed at tackling poverty and inequality through intervention programs.

He has been married twice. His first marriage to Enrica Cenzarotti resulted in two children, Amos and Matteo, born in 1995 and 1997 respectively. He later separated from Enrica and married Veronica Berti in 2014. They have a daughter named Virginia, born in 2012.
